The Duke and Duchess of Cambridges eight day royal tour of Canada is coming to a close. But there was one last day of engagements before the royal couple could head back home with their children.

Kate and William dropped in on the Cridge Centre for the Family, one of Victorias most well-known charitable institutions which provides a range of support services for women who have suffered domestic violence.

Accompanied by the Premier of BC Christy Clark, lieutenant Governor of BC Judith Guichon, Cridge Centres CEO Shelley Morris and President Val Fuller, the Duke and Duchess spent time chatting with residents and beneficiaries of the Centre and learning about the personal support they had received.

The centres offers a range of schemes which include womens and family services, senior services, brain injury services and the young parent outreach programme.

Three hundred clients, residents and beneficiaries of the programme had gathered to greet the couple.

Looking effortlessly stylish in a smart Zara jacket and jeans and a pair of £278 tartan heeled loafers by J Crew and with her hair pulled back in a ponytail, Kate walked down one line of people eagerly waiting to meet them.

The Duchess chatted with 20-year-old Zara Auld from Victoria and her mother Anne Auld. Kate asked me what I like to do and I told her cooking, said Zara. She asked me what and I said Italian like pizza and pasta and she said George loves that.

Mrs Auld added its been a dream come true meeting the Duchess.

The royals then unveiled the Overcomers Monument dedicated to people who have overcome difficult circumstances.

The Duke and Duchess will later visit a local café where they will meet with families that have been supported by the Kelty Mental Health Resource Centre, one of British Columbias leading mental health charities, Mail Online reports.

Kate has been a champion for mental health awareness among the youth and along with Prince William and Prince Harry, has spearheaded the Heads Together campaign in the UK.

As the royals conclude their Canadian adventure they will enjoy a sail on a tall ship around Victoria Harbour before flying out of the city with their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

The royal tour of Canada marked the first foreign engagements for Princess Charlotte and Prince George.
