After blockbuster film "Chennai Express", Shah Rukh Khan and Rohit Shetty will be back with another film this Christmas.

If reports are to be believed, Rohit and Shah Rukh have blocked the lucky Christmas date for the release of their upcoming film. The plot of Rohit's untitled film is based on two cult classic films. The untitled film features Shah Rukh and Varun Dhawan in lead roles.

Kriti Sanon has been cast opposite Varun and will step into the shoes of Madhubala, eports said.

"Varun keeps teasing and challenging his brother about his lack of interest in women…until at mid-point in the plot it's revealed that Shah Rukh had a woman in his life  in the past who deserted him. The experience left his shattered and disillusioned about love. This is where Kajol is supposed to come in," a source told Subhash K Jha.

Kajol is yet to give her nod for the leading lady role in Rohit's untitled film, but the rest of the cast has been confirmed, according to the report.

Earlier, there were rumours that Rohit's next film will be a remake of old classic film "Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi". However, the "Chennai Express" director rubbished the reports and said that the film will have an original script.

"Yes. My film with SRK is an original script for sure. It's not a remake at all! I am doing Ram Lakhan, which is a remake. If I wanted to hide that, I could have not announced it. If I can accept that I am remaking Ram Lakhan, I would have accepted this as well, had it been true," Rohit told DNA

Meanwhile, the reports further stated that the untitled film will go on floors in March and will be released during Christmas holiday.

Christmas date is mostly booked by Aamir Khan's film as it is said to be his lucky period. Aamir's last two films "Dhoom 3" and "PK", both released during Christmas and shattered all the records at the worldwide box office. This year, there will be no Aamir film as he is yet to start the shooting of his film, but audience will be in for a treat with Rohit-Shah Rukh's film.

However, there is no official confirmation either from the director or from Shah Rukh. Also, Rohit has previously said that they will make an official announcement in few days about the movie.
