Agartala, Nov 16 (ANI): A four-day road show, 'Maitri Tourism 2014', kicked off in Agartala to promote tourism between India and Bangladesh. The event is being organised by Bangladesh Foundation for Tourism Development and Bangladesh Inbound Tour Operators Association in collaboration with Tripura Tourism Development Forum and Tripura Tourism Development Corporation. A seminar took place to discuss the sub-regional tourism circuit linking India's northeast, Bangladesh and Myanmar, and the land routes linking the capital cities of Dhaka and Agartala. A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) Secretary Subhas Das said tourism is among the most flourishing sectors in the world and plays a significant role in generating employment. The seminar also covered issues of tourism tax and easing the visa process to further boost the tourism industry.
