Actor Riteish Deshmukh has confirmed that his wife actress Genelia is pregnant with their first child.

In an interview with The Times of India, the actor revealed about the pregnancy, putting an end to all the speculations. He said that they are very excited about the new member joining their family.

"Yes, she is and we are looking forward to the baby and are very excited about it," he told TOI.

Although, he confirmed the news about their first baby, he did not give more details.

Genelia's pregnancy rumours started when she was spotted flaunting what appeared to be a baby bump. The actress made an appearance at the Zee Cine Award in April wearing a full length anarkali, the design of which gave the impression that she was pregnant.

However, the actress' spokesperson denied the reports.

During the screening of Marathi film "Yellow" Genelia dressed up casually in a black tee and Capri. She was spotted with a tiny baby bump, leading to pregnancy speculations, but again her spokesperson refuted the rumours.

In May during IIFA awards 2014, the actress gave a miss to the event, which was held in Florida, US. Riteish's solo appearance at the award show sparked her pregnancy rumours again.

After seeing each other for 10 long years, the couple married in a lavish ceremony in Mumbai in 2012. Riteish has often mentioned that his wife is his best friend and marrying her was the best thing that happened to him.

"Genelia and I are one person, we are not two people. Falling in love with your friend and that becoming your life is the best thing that can happen to a person. I love her energy and her smile. She will always put me ahead of herself on any given day, which is endearing," he told TOI.

"Coming from a profession where as an actor you only think of yourself, be it a frame, a scene or a film or how you are projected, it made her even more special. We are similar in terms of thinking, our likes and our value system. We both like simple things and are not materialistic," he added.
