Renault Lodgy vs Honda Mobilio: How Do They Stack up? Specification Comparison

French auto-maker Renault's Lodgy MPV, which just drove out of the stable, is ready to throw its competition off the tracks.

Renault Lodgy has made its entry into MPV segment of India where we got used to the likes of Honda Mobilio and Maruti Ertiga. By unveiling Lodgy MPV, Renault is targeting a good share in the MPV segment like its Duster did in the SUV market. On the outset, Renault Lodgy seems to have packed enough in its neatly stylised body to shore things up in terms of sales and impact.

The model looks cool in terms of its design and comes with all bells and whistles to put up a good fight with its rivals in the country. Here we pitted Renault's new Lodgy against the Honda Mobilio and see how do they stack up against each other.

Renault Lodgy/Honda Mobilio Features, Engine, Mileage and Price Details

Launched on 23 July in India, the new Honda Mobilio MPV is offered in three trims in both diesel and petrol. The car, which has been priced aggressively in the market, comes with a stylish and powerful package.

Engine Specification

Renault Lodgy is offered only in diesel engine and is powered by 1.5-litre K9K diesel engine, which is tuned to churn out two states of tunes – 85PS and 110PS. Renault Lodgy MPV is available in seven variants – four in 85PS and three in 110PS.

On the other hand, Honda Mobilio packs 1.5 L i-DTEC diesel engine and 1.5 L i-VTEC petrol engine. The diesel engine of the Mobilio delivers 100PS @3,600rpm, maximum torque of 200Nm @1,750rpm and the petrol model promises to churn out a maximum power of 119PS @6,600rpm, maximum torque of 145Nm @4,600rpm. Both the engines come mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

Dimensions

In terms of dimensions, with 2,810mm wheelbase Lodgy finishes the race first. Renault Lodgy measures 4,498mm in length, 1,751mm in width, and 1,697mm in height and comes seated on a wheelbase of 2,810mm. On the other hand, Mobilo measures 4,386mm in length, 1,683mm in width and 1,603mm in height and has wheelbase of 2,652mm.

Renault Lodgy is offered both in seven and eight-seater variants, whereas Honda Mobilio has only seven seaters.

Fuel efficiency

In terms of fuel efficiency, Mobilio stands much ahead in the competition, with a mileage of 24kmpl for diesel and 16.5kmpl for petrol. Renault's Lodgy offers a return of 19.98kmpl for the 110PS and 21.04kmpl for the 85PS trim.
