French auto maker Renault is reportedly gearing up to launch Duster 4X4 variant in India this September, according to a new report.

Renault Four-Wheel Drive Duster's India launch has been rumoured for a while now. An Autocar India report claims that the Renault will bring its range-topping four-wheel-drive version of the Duster to India in September.

Globally, Renault Duster 4×4 is sold with petrol and diesel engines. While the diesel model is powered by K9K 1.5-liter four cylinder eight-valve diesel engine, which can generate a power of 107 hp and peak torque of 240 Nm, the petrol version comes with 1.6 liter four cylinder engine. The petrol model offers max power of 105 hp and peak torque of 148 Nm and both the engines come mated to a six speed manual gearbox. In India, the company is likely to bring only the diesel version of Duster 4X4.

In terms of styling and design, Duster 4X4 is not much different from the two-wheeler drive. Inside the cabin, the model will feature Touchscreen Infotainment System, Steering Mounted Controls, 2-DIN Stereo System, Rear Air-Conditioning Vents, Keyless Entry, Rear Parking Sensors, ABS with EBD, Emergency Brake Assist and Dual SRS Front Airbags. When launched, Duster 4X4 will become the top end model of Duster SUV in the country and if rumours are to be believed, then the auto enthusiasts may have to shell out an extra ₹80,000 for the new variant.

Duster, which redefined the definitions of SUVs in the Indian market has been a great success so far. Recently, the company celebrated the second anniversary of Duster in India with the launch of an anniversary edition special vehicle. The Second Anniversary Edition Renault Duster comes in new Amazon Green colour and hosts a slew of features like front armour with lamps, Neon interiors and smoked headlamps. The vehicle gets its power from the same 1.5l dCi engine, which can churn out a power of 83.3 bhp and 200 Nm of torque and comes mated to a five-speed manual transmission.

The company also had launched Renault Duster Adventure in India. The SUV accommodates a slew of features like smoked headlamps, door side sill, wheel arch cladding, new 16-inch alloy wheels and metal-finish grab handle. Inside, the Duster Adventure packs piano black finish centre console and steering, Lime green seat fabric upholstery and fabric insert on the doors.
