Reliance Communications hit headlines last month when it introduced 10GB data at Rs 93 offer to Jio Sim users. However, the company has now stopped the offer, citing that it was just a promotional offer for a limited period.

Reliance Communications came up with 10GB data at just Rs 93 offer in June at a time when Indian internet users were reeling from exorbitant data prices and poor service. CDMA customers, who had upgraded to 4G, were eligible for the offer, but it was valid only for 30 days. The move made other Telecom operators like Airtel and Idea cut their data tariffs.

The company has now discontinued the 10GB data at Rs 93 offer, which means consumers will no longer receive the benefit. In the official website, the 10GB data is now priced at Rs. 1,849 for 28 days in Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Gujarat, Kolkata, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, and Rs. 1,857 in Mumbai. It is not known if Reliance Communications will bring back the offer in the future.

The company might have decided to stop its high-speed mobile internet service offer considering the cost it involves. Reliance Communications serves 8 million CDMA users and over 90 percent of them had reportedly opted for an upgrade, which means millions might have been benefited from the offer.
