Rajouri , Sep 08 (ANI): The Red Cross came as a beacon of hope to the flood ravished people of Kashmir as officials distributed relief material to the affected victims. The Red Cross distributed relief material for the homeless in the flooded areas of Kalakote, Nowshera and Sunderbani in Rajouri district. More than 175 people lost their lives in the unprecedented floods and thousands were left homeless as Jhelum and other rivers overflowed their banks in Kashmir. Army regiments like the 425 Field Hospitals have set up relief camps in the state and have collaborated with district hospitals and NGOs to provide medical aid to the affected. People suffered huge losses as the incessant rainfall led to house collapse, damaging property worth lakhs.
