New Delhi, Feb 17 (ANI): Reactions come in from political circle as well as Christian community after Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured of religious tolerance and strongly asserted his government’s commitment to ensure equal respect to all religions in India. Delhi Archbishop Anil J Couto said that the statement is very assuring and that they have full faith in the prime minister. Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman PJ Kurien said that there can be differing elements in any party, but the people should focus on what the prime minister has to say. BJP leader Meenakshi Lekhi also supported Modi and the BJP government’s agenda. Meanwhile, Congress leaders are of the view that there is a great difference between what Modi says and what he preaches and therefore the words should be believed only when its comes into action. PC Chacko however, demanded the prime minister to make such statements in the Parliament if he believes in them.
