A much tighter, re-edited version of Lijo Jose Pellissery's latest film "Double Barrel - Eratta Kuzhal" was released on Tuesday.
While the original version, released on Friday, 28 August as an Onam treat to Kerala audience was 2.39 hours long, the duration of the new version is 2.20 hours.
The old version of "Double Barrel" had opened to mixed reviews. While many called it the worst film ever made in Malayalam, there were those who appreciated it as a new genre in Mollywood.
"Double Barrel re-edited version in theatres from today," Prithviraj Sukumaran, the lead actor of the film, posted on his official Facebook handle.

The news was announced by the actor just a day after the film's director claimed he has no plans to alter the movie to impress viewers.

The multi-starrer comedy thriller has Prithviraj Sukumaran, Indrajith Sukumaran, Arya, Asif Ali, Swati Reddy, Isha Sharvani, Sunny Wayne, Vijay Babu, Manu, Chemban Vinod, Pearle Maaney, Sabu Abu Samad and Rachana Narayanankutty in pivotal roles.
"Double Barrel" was produced jointly by August Cinemas Pvt Ltd and Amen Movie Monastery.
