The Reserve Bank of India Friday fixed the reference rate for the U.S. dollar at 52.7220 rupees and the euro 68.9048 rupees.
The corresponding rates of dollar and euro for the previous day (December 22, 2011) were 52.7825 rupees and 68.8775 rupees respectively.
Based on the reference rate for the U.S. dollar and middle rates of the cross-currency quotes, the exchange rates of British pound as against the rupee is 82.7050 as against 82.7313 on the previous day (December 22, 2011) and that of Japanese yen is 67.53 as against 67.63 the previous day.
