Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh's has once again become the centre of attention with his recently released condom ad.

The actor is the first A-list actor in Bollywood to promote a condom brand and he does it with elan. Singh has turned rapper for the ad and seems very pleased with his new role.

Unlike the usual sleazy condom ads, Singh's advert prominently has him showing off some wacky dance moves and rapping actively about the importance of safe sex.

The actor even revealed that he chose to promote the brand as a social responsibility.

"I was always clear that I wanted to endorse a product that truly has a positive impact on society and sends out the message of being socially responsible too. With the kind of problems we face in our country -- HIV and STDs and unwanted pregnancies, I strongly feel that if there is one product that needs to be endorsed, it is condoms," the actor told DNA.

The "Gunday" actor also explained that it was he who approached the brand for the ad and not vice versa.

"I proactively approached Durex... it was actually my idea! So I am very glad that I have started out on the endorsement front on my own terms. I am aware that it's an edgy choice," he explained.

While the actor's condom endorsement is generally perceived as a bold move, he insists: "I only wanted to do something unique and something that made sense to me, I wasn't really thinking about whether it was bold or not."

Prior to Singh, adult star turned actress Sunny Leone too had featured in a condom advertisement.
