Bollywood's heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor is the latest celebrity to have jumped aboard the tattoo bandwagon.
The 30-year-old actor has got himself a tattoo that reads 'Awaara' in Devanagri script. The tattoo in his right inner wrist was first noticed during the promotion of his upcoming film "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani".
It is yet to be ascertained whether the tattoo is permanent.
Interestingly, 'Awara' is a term associated with his grandparent Raj Kapoor for his 1951 film by the same name.
And by the looks of it, Ranbir's 'Awaara' tattoo seems to be a tribute to the legendary actor.
Ranbir's ex-girlfriend and co-star Deepika Padukone in "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" had earlier inked his own initials on the back of her neck.
Some of the famous tattoos on celebrities are Kangana Ranaut's 'warrior angel' on her ankle, Mallika Arora's 'Angel', Akshay Kumar's son's name 'Aarav' on his back. There is Esha Deol with the Hindu 'OM' symbol surrounded by a ring of fire on her left shoulder, while her right side is inked with 'Gayatri mantra'. Ajay Devgn, an ardent follower of Lord Shiva, has etched a Shiva on his chest which was visible in his movie 'Singham'. Couple Hrithik and Sussane Roshan have identical star shaped symbols that signify their platonic love for each other.
Recently, Priyanka Chopra got herself a stylized 'Daddy's Lil Girl' tattoo as an expression of love towards her father.
But it was the famous 'Kareena' on Saif Ali Khan's wrist which set the tattoo trend in Bollywood.
