Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor's superhero flick alongside Alia Bhatt has reportedly been shelved. It was supposed to be helmed by Ranbir's close friend Ayan Mukerji as it was his dream project, but it might not go on floors.

Ayan and Ranbir have worked together in "Wake Up Sid" and "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" under Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, but now it seems the producer has backed out from the superhero project. "Producer Karan Johar no longer finds an Indian super-hero film financially feasible since there are so many of them being done in Hollywood, and with so much more resources at their disposal," a source told DNA.

"Besides, Karan's friend choreographer Remo D'Souza is also directing a super-hero film with Tiger Shroff. So it's a no for Ayan's superhero film," he added. Fans will be disappointed to learn that Ranbir and Alia would not appear on the big screen with this film now.

The superhero flick was being delayed for a long time. Earlier, it had been reported that Ayan kept his dream project at the backburner to make a film with Deepika Padukone. The filmmaker planned to make a film with one of the best on-screen pairs, Deepika and Ranbir.

On the other hand, it was reported that Alia was the reason behind Ranbir and Katrina Kaif's split. Katrina apparently didn't like Ranbir's equation with Alia and, in fact, the "Fitoor" actress asked Ayan to drop Alia from the superhero flick. But, later all seemed well between the two actresses when they were snapped hugging each other at the HT Most Stylish Awards 2016.

It seems Ranbir's personal as well as professional life is not going quite well. Ranbir's career graph is sliding down, but fans still have hopes with his upcoming films – "Jagga Jasoos" and "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil."
