Raipur, May 30 (ANI): Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh on Friday demanded that being a Maoist hotbed with a tribal population, his state must get the additional benefits that every new state gets annually. More than 50 per cent of the state population comprises Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes and poverty among them is a matter of serious concern in the state. The rebels, also known as Naxals, have fought for decades in a wide swathe of central and eastern India, including many resource-rich regions where tensions run high between poor farmers and industrial developers.
