The advance booking of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vicky Kaushal starrer "Raman Raghav 2.0" has opened in theatres, and interestingly the film has received a good response.

"Raman Raghav 2.0" has generated a good buzz before its release due to its trailer and songs and also the word of mouth is strong, which can be seen in the opening day advance booking status. Generally, a crime thriller opens to a much low response compared to other genres, but "Raman Raghav 2.0" has received a good start.

The opening day advance booking occupancy report shows that several shows in Mumbai, National Capital Region, Bangalore and other circuits are filling up fast. At several circuits, the tickets have been already sold out, according to online booking portal BookMyShow. The occupancy is expected to increase further on Thursday and Friday, which will help the film to put out a good opening day figure.

The crime thriller "Raman Raghav 2.0" is based on the notorious serial killer Raman Raghav, who confessed to killing more than 40 people in mid-1960s in Mumbai. The film, directed by Anurag Kashyap and produced by Phantom films, features Nawazuddin in the titular role, Vicky as inspector Raghavan and Sobhita Dhulipala as Vicky's girlfriend.

Talking about his role, Nawazuddin told International Business Times India that it was disturbing for him to believe the serial killer's thought. He said that he went away for two days to spend some time alone so that he can prepare for the role.

"I watched several YouTube videos of psychopath killers and studied about them, read about them on internet, which helped me a lot about knowing my character. Also, before starting the film, I went out for two days, just to spend some alone time to think about the character," Nawazuddin said.
