The success of "Kabali" has made the makers of the film to plan for its sequel. Producer Kalaippuli S Thanu has said that he is interested to do it if Rajinikanth is willing to star in the flick.

Kalaippuli S Thanu has revealed that "Kabali" has an open-ended climax and the sequel is always a possibility. The producer and the director are interested to do the second instalment of the film provided Rajinikanth gives a go ahead for the film.

The producer cites the box office collection made by "Kabali" to prove his point that the film has been overwhelmingly received by the audience and it is a hit.

"Kabali," which is made with the budget of Rs. 100 crore, is on a record-breaking spree at the world box office. After minting Rs. 87.5 crore on its first day, the Tamil movie went on to collect over Rs. 200 crore in its first weekend at the worldwide box office.

The best part of its success story is the fact that the movie is enjoying good occupancy rate despite getting mixed reviews from the critics. While many have criticised the slow narration, the general audience seem to have liked the subject sans usual masala elements that are found in Rajinikanth's films.

"Kabali" is an action movie in which Rajinikanth has done the role of a gangster. The movie, which is set in Malaysia, is written and directed by Pa Ranjith. It has Radhika Apte, Kishore, Dhansika and many others in the cast.

However, Rajinikanth is currently busy with "2.0" and Pa Ranjith has signed a film, which will star Suriya in the lead role. It is only after the completion of their respective films that they can take up "Kabali 2."
