In a first, Superstar Rajinikanth has crooned in Hindi for his much-awaited, upcoming film "Kochadaiyaan" (Hindi version).

Earlier, it was reported that the "Kochadaiyaan" team is planning to release a video of the making of the film with a song sung by the superstar himself. The song has been composed by A R Rahman and will appear in both Hindi and Tamil versions.

The Hindi version would be the translation of the Tamil song, which is more of a recitation. While the lyrics for the Tamil version have been written by Vairamuthu, the lyrics for the Hindi version have been done by Irshad Kamil.

This is not the first time that Rajini has lent his voice for a Tamil song. The actor had sung in one of his earlier films. The song "Adikuthu Kuliru" from 1992-release "Mannan" was one of the popular numbers during that time. However, the his song in the dubbed version of "Kochadaiyaan" would be his first in Hindi.

"Kochadaiyaan" is being promoted as the first 3D Indian film to use state-of-art motion capturing techniques. The film's crew is currently busy with post-production work. They are also simultaneously working to release the trailer soon.

"Hey guys ..Trailer shaping out well. Working on more surprises...All efforts are going in to release it asap .Will keep u posted !!" film's director Soundarya tweeted few days ago.

"Kochaadiyaan's" trailer was expected to be launched at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival in France. It was reported that the superstar would attend the event. However, the film's crew has rescheduled the release of the trailer. "We were initially planning to go there, but we wanted to ensure that the trailer was cut well and in the best format. That was taking time. So, we have rescheduled it and will be releasing the trailer soon," the film's producer Murali Manohar told The Times of India.

"Kochadaiyaan" is an epic drama in which Rajini plays a dual role of father and son. Bollywood star Deepika Padukone will play the female lead. The film would be released in different languages including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and some foreign languages, as the superstar enjoys a huge fan following across the globe.

The film is expected to get released in July, but there is no official word on it.
