Tamil superstar Rajinikanth is all set to attend the 66th Cannes Film Festival where the trailer of his much awaited movie "Kochadaiyaan" will be screened.

Confirming the reports, Amita Naidu, Vice President of PR Eros said, "We will launch the trailer of 'Kochadaiyaan' at the Cannes film festival," reported IANS.

"Rajini sir will be present at the festival to unveil the trailer of 'Kochadaiyaan'," the film's spokesperson said.

Directed by Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya, "Kochadaiyaan" is India's first motion-capture film that is made in the likes of Hollywood movies such as "Avatar" and "The Adventure of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn".

"Kochadaiyaan", which is expected to hit the screens in July, stars Deepika Padukone as the leading lady. Rajinikanth is said to be playing a double role in the film. The film will be released in Tamil, Telegu, Hindi and English.

The much-hyped film also stars R Sarath Kumar, Aadi Pinisetty, Shobana, Rukmini Vijayakumar, Jackie Shroff and Nasser. The film is co-produced by Eros International and Media One Global Entertainment. Its soundtrack is composed by music maestro AR Rahman.

The crew of "Kochadaiyaan" is reportedly involved in post-production work in China.

Recently, Rajinikanth finished the first half of the dubbing in just one day.

After the release of "Kochadaiyaan", Rajinikanth will be the only actor from the black and white cinema era to star in a film made with motion capture technology.

Bollywood actors Aishwarya Rai and Amitabh Bachchan are also set to walk the red carpet at Cannes. While Aishwarya will attend the event as L'Oreal Paris ambassador, her father-in-law Amitabh is to attend the unveiling of his Hollywood debut, "The Great Gatsby," which has been selected for the opening of the film festival.

At the 2013 Cannes Film Festival which is set to commence on 15 May, India will be one of the guest countries which will be given special spotlight for completing 100 years of Indian cinema.
