Rajinikanth-Starrer 'Lingaa' Audio to Release on 9 November

The audio launch of Rajinikanth's "Lingaa" is slated for 9 November. "Lingaa" audio is composed by A R Rahman and there are huge expectations from the album. It remains to be seen if the album will be able to impress the audience. Eros Music South has bagged the audio rights of the film and it will be their second project in Tamil after Vijay's "Kaththi."

The film's shooting is progressing well and the team will be shooting for Rajini's intro song in Macau, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The shooting is expected to be wrapped up soon after which the post-production work will commence.

Directed by K S Ravikumar, "Lingaa" is touted to be a commercial entertainer with Rajinikanth appearing in dual roles. The film is set in two time periods – pre-independent and post-independent.

The Rajini-starrer has Anushka Shetty and Sonakshi Sinha in female leads. Santhanam, Jagapathi Babu, Dev Gill, Karunakaran, Brahmanandam, Radha Ravi and Vijayakumar are also part of the film's cast.

Expectations are sky high for "Lingaa" as Rajinikanth has teamed up with director Ravikumar for the third time post the success of "Padayappa" and "Muthu." The superstar's last release "Kochadaiiyaan," deemed as India's first 3D film with motion capturing techniques, turned out to be an average grosser.

"Lingaa" will be the actor's second release of the year and it will be interesting to see how the film fares at the box office.

The first-look motion poster, which was released on the special occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, received overwhelming response from the fans. The recently-released poster of the superstar has also fetched good feedback from the fans. The actor rocks in his stylish avatar and fans are eagerly looking forward to the film which is expected to have loads of action and punch lines, one would associate with a Rajinikanth film.

"Lingaa" teaser is expected to release along with the audio. However, there is no official confirmation in this regard.

The film's cinematography is handled by Rathnavelu, while editing is done by Samjith Mhd. Rockline Entertainments has produced the project, while Eros International will be distributing the film.

The film's release will coincide with the actor's birthday on 12 December.
