Rajinikanth's much-awaited film "Lingaa" released on 12 December and one can see the star's popularity from viewers who are thronging theatres to watch it.

Though the review of the movie is not great, people want to only see their "Thalaiva." The crowds in front of the theatres and ticket counters have proved how much audiences worship Rajinikanth.

The promos of the film hiked viewers' curiosity and expectations. But the film fails to impress in terms of what is expected from a Rajinkanth-Ravikumar movie, despite being filled with all the essential elements of a typical Rajinikanth movie.

However, this does not mean that "Lingaa" is a bad movie. It has a lot to offer to Rajinikanth fans; his style, action, glamour and punch dialogues have been rightly mixed in the storyline.

The film, which also features Anushka Shetty and Sonakhsi Sinha, has succeeded in driving unprecedented crowds to both single screens and multiplexes. It is still a task to get a ticket for "Lingaa" as movie halls are houseful. Not just that, there is an air of excitement even outside the theatres and multiplexes.
