Bollywood superstar Rajesh Khanna, fondly known as Kaka, has not been keeping well for quite some time now. The ailing star was admitted to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital in suburban Bandra on Saturday afternoon but is apparently doing fine now and is likely be discharged in a day or two
It was reported that he was suffering from kidney ailments but his estranged wife Dimple Kapadia told the reporters that he was only "exhausted and a little weak," and not suffering from any other complication.
"He (Rajesh) is fine...He is much better today. He should get discharged in a day or two," the Press Trust of India quoted wife Dimple Kapadia as saying.
Former wife, Dimple, who separated from 'Kaka' long ago, has been taking care of him since the time he has fallen ill. In fact his kins, including pregnant daughter Twinkle Khanna, her actor husband Akshay Kumar and younger daughter Rinke has been by his side all this while.
"My father in-law's health is doing fine now & on the road to recovery. Thank you for your good wishes," son-in-law Akshay Kumar wrote on his Whosay account.
Earlier on Thursday, his manager Ashwin had said that Rajesh was not doing well and has stopped eating food for the past three to four days.
However, the prayers of thousands of loyal fans worldwide seem to have worked.
Khanna had earlier appeared on the balcony of his home 'Ashirwad' on Mumbai's Carter Road to assure fans outside his bungalow that he is doing fine.
Clad in a crisp white kurta, a light brown colour stole and dark shades, the yesteryear actor showed a "V" for victory sign to his fans.
It may be recalled that Khanna was hospitalized at the Lilavati Hospital in April this year following uneasiness and frail health.
