Munshiganj, Sept 05 (ANI): Women's wing of Bharatiya Kisan Union, a farmer's union, on Friday (September 05) protested in Munshiganj village of Uttar Pradesh, on being denied a meeting with Congress Vice President, Rahul Gandhi with whom they wanted to share their woes regarding scarcity of electricity and water for their fields. Munshiganj is located in the Raebarelli district of Uttar Pradesh, a constituency under the Congress President, Sonia Gandhi. Women in the area wanted to meet Sonia's son and scion of the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty, Rahul Gandhi, to discuss the prevailing problems of water and electricity. Protesters blamed the government for ignoring the needs of the farmers and entering into business with industrialists. They demanded that funds coming into the constituency should first be used for the benefit of the farmers.
