Mahesh Bhatt's latest horror film "Raaz 3" has maintained a strong position at the domestic box office. The third instalment to the "Raaz" franchise is faring well especially during weekdays.

The Emraan Hasmi, Bipasha Bau, Esha Gupta starrer raked in Rs 45.5 million at the Indian box office on Wednesday, taking the overall total to Rs 516 million in just seven days including the Thursday preview.

"#Raaz3 Wed 4.55 cr. Total: 51.60 cr nett. Excellent on weekdays too!" Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

The movie collected Rs 60.2 million on Monday, Rs 50.5 million on Tuesday and Rs 45.5 million on Wednesday. During the first weekend it scored Rs 360.2 million at the Indian box office.

"#Raaz3 Thu previews 58 lacs, Fri 10.47 cr, Sat 11.18 cr, Sun 13.79 cr, Mon 6.02 cr, Tue *est* 5.05 cr. Total: 47.09 cr nett. Superb!" Adarsh tweeted.

The movie had a limited release in overseas and it was given 15/R certification by censors, inevitably restricting the audience numbers, Bollywood Hungama reported.

Despite the limitations, the movie is still doing good business at the overseas box office and has collected more than Rs 25 million, Koimoi.com reported.

In UK, the movie did well and is Emraan's biggest opener to date, collecting £73,236 (Rs 6.54 million) which is bigger than his previous release "The Dirty Picture" (£43,794 or Rs 3.9 million)] and "Once Upon a Time in Mumbai" (£54,780 or Rs 4.9 million).

In spite of its wonderful business, "Raaz 3" might take a hit with stiff competition coming from Anurag Basu's "Barfi!", which is due to release this Friday. Promos of the romantic comedy, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D'cruz, has garnered positives reviews from critics and created hype among viewers.

With filmmakers aimed at releasing "Barfi!" only at multiplexes, "Raaz 3" can still fare well on single screens, Koimoi.com reported.
