French giants PSG will take on Premier League heavyweights Arsenal in the opening game of their UEFA Champions League campaign on Tuesday. The two sides are meeting for the third-time ever in any competition.

This will be the first European match Unai Emery will be charge of as the new coach and it needs to be seen whether the Ligue 1 champions can break the deadlock of not making it to the finals of the UCL, this time around.

For four consecutive seasons, PSG have been knocked out at the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals stage and that has come as a real frustration for the fans. Can Emery, with a Zlatan Ibrahimovic-less side do something different this time? That is the question everyone is asking now.

Star forward Ibrahimovic may have joined Manchester United this summer, but PSG still boasts of firepower in the form of Edinson Cavani, Lucas Moura and Hatem Ben Arfa. The French champions didn't have a real good kickstart to their domestic season as they remain currently on fourth place in the Ligue 1 standings, with just seven points from first four games.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are sixth in the Premier League at the moment with only seven points gathered from four games. The good news for the Gunners, however, is that they have won their last two Premier League fixtures, unlike PSG, who lost once and drew once in their previous two fixtures.

Team news

PSG - Emery's side have major injury concerns as Serge Aurier, Javier Pastore, Maxwell and left-back Layvin Kurzawa have injuries. Skipper Thiago Silva also has a knock and it needs to be seen if he is fit enough to participate in the game.

Arsenal - Arsene Wenger's side have no fresh injury concerns. Only the likes of Per Mertesacker, Gabriel, Danny Welbeck, Carl Jenkinson, and Aaron Ramsey remain absent from the game.
