Dabang Delhi will clash against the Patna Pirates in the Star Sports Pro Kabaddi League on Monday in the Thyagaraj Stadium in Delhi.

This is the first match between the two sides in the eight-league tournament. Neither Delhi nor Patna have set the Pro Kabaddi League on fire.

The boys from Delhi are second from the bottom while the Pirates are last in the table. Patna, however, have yet another game in hand.

Delhi haven't begun the tournament well, notching up only one victory in four games. Most of their games have been closely contested. In almost all their games Delhi have either had to catch up after giving away too many points at the beginning or haven't been able to hold their nerve in the end.

Only in their victory over Puneri Paltan did the boys from Delhi manage to hold on and come up trumps in another tightly-fought affair.

In Delhi's last encounter against Telugu Titans, the defence in the beginning seemed all over the place as at one point in the first half the Titans were leading by 19 to 10. Thereafter, Kashiling Adake and Surjeet Narwal staged a comeback, but it wasn't enough to prevent the Titans from winning the match.

Adake and Narwal have been very aggressive throughout the tournament as they've made constant forays into the opposition's half. This has paid off for them. In the match against Bengal Warriors, Adake was very hard to contain. He was instrumental in taking Delhi to a win against Puneri Paltan. Dabang Delhi have to shore up their defence who will have to provide good support to Adake and Narwal.

Patna Pirates got off to a bad start in the tournament. They lost a close match against leaders U Mumba while against an imperious Jaipur Pink Panthers they were rendered apart. In the match against the Pink Panthers they seemed all at sea as they were hammered 40 to 18.

They picked themselves in their next encounter against Telugu Titans and procured a victory in a rather close contest. Ravi Dalal here did very well as he scored 14 raid points. Skipper Rakesh Kumar gave him adequate support with seven points. Kumar even in the first game against U Mumba put in a terrific show. Once again they will be reliant on Kumar and Dalal.

As both Dabang Delhi and Patna Pirates want to desperately go up the points table one can expect a very attacking game.
