Gorgeous and sexy looks play an important role in Bollywood and we are accustomed to seeing the actresses with make-up and well tied hair.

However, a few Bollywood actresses have appeared in certain films, shedding off their glamourous avatars.

Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut, Sonam Kapoor, and a few others were daring enough to opt for such de-glam roles by getting into the skin of their characters in the films.

Priyanka Chopra

The Bollywood diva received many accolades for her performance in the sports biopic "Marykom" (2014), in which she appeared in a non-glamourous avatar and looked rough and tough. She was also seen in a de-glam avatar in the award-winning film "Barfi!" (2012).

Kangana Ranaut

As compared to Kangana's powerful character as a leading model in the film "Fashion" (2014), her look in the National Award-winning movie, "Queen", was quite simple. Still, the actress looked gorgeous in simple kurtis and minimal make-up.

Rani Mukherji

The "Mardaani" actress' performance in the popular film, "Black" (2005), is one of the best characters she has ever portrayed on-screen. She was appreciated a lot for her role as a deaf and mute girl in the Amitabh Bachchan starrer.

Sonam Kapoor

Bollywood fashionista Sonam has wooed many of her fans with her gorgeous appearances at major events, including the International Cannes Film Festival. However, the actress' look in the highly-acclaimed sports biopic, "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag", which was based on the life of Milkha Singh might have surprised many of her fans. The actress was seen as a simple villager opposite Farhan Akhtar in the Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra directorial in 2013.
