Prince William and Kate Middleton are celebrating their third wedding anniversary today, April 29.

To mark the occasion, the Duke presented the Duchess with an exquisite sapphire adorned Cartier watch, before embarking on the Australia and New Zealand tour, reported the Daily Mail. The Ballon Bleu de Cartier watch is said to be worth $5,950 and goes perfectly with Middleton's engagement ring.

The Duchess wears a sapphire ring, which once belonged to late Princess Diana. The ring is made of 18-carat white gold, 12-carat oval sapphire and 14 round diamonds.

It seems surreal that it has been three years since Middleton and the Prince William walked down the aisle. They first met at the University of St. Andrews and dated on and off for 8 years. The couple got hitched on Oct. 20, 2010, during a private holiday in Kenya.

Announcing their engagement, Prince William had said: "The timing is right now, we are both very, very happy, " reported The Guardian

The royal couple became parents to Prince George after a year of marriage. Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge was born on July 22, 2013.

From the time of their marriage, the couple has traveled worldwide, attended charity events and met global celebrities.

Moreover, Middleton has become a global fashion icon and is hailed for her exquisite fashion choices. For her wedding, she wore an ivory gown designed by Sarah Burton, coupled with lace appliqué floral detail and a complex train measuring 2 meters x 70 centimeters. She wore a 1936 Cartier "halo" for tiara.
