When Cressida Bonas turned up at the Art Antiques London Gala Evening in aid of Children In Crisis at Kensington Gardens on Tuesday, she sported a rather different look from what the media is used to.

Sporting a pair of slinky silver trousers that she paired with a backless black top and blow dried voluminous hair, Prince Harry's former girlfriend immediately drew comparisons to Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton.

From a fashion stand point, Bonas and Middleton have always been opposites. While Bonas is known to be a fan of grunge, Middleton has always had an elegant fashion sense. And one of the major differences was in the hair department -- Bonas's is usually in a bedhead state, but Middleton is praised for her perfect blow dried locks.

These differences might be one of the factors why Bonas and Middleton did not allegedly get along.

When Harry and Bonas called it quits sometime in April, Middleton was blamed for the split, and some media reports even hinted at a friction between Harry and William.

"Kate and Cressie just didn't get along," a source told Showbiz Spy. "Kate initially thought Cressie and Harry were the real deal and their relationship would end in marriage. But in the end, she just couldn't warm to her."

"She tried to give Cressie guidance. If anyone knows about how to be an outside in the Royal Family, it's Kate. But Cressie didn't seem interested. William had words with Harry, and told him friction between between the women could cause a major problem in the long term."

But other reports state that it is Bonas' reservation about living life in the public eye that finally caused her to end her two-year relationship with Harry. Reportedly, she even had a talk with Middleton about the expectations that come with being part of the royal family, and Bonas was not ready to take up the responsibility now.

"Cressie is still young and have huge reservations about marrying into the royal family. They had a chat over the weekend and decided it's best they cool things off," an insider told Showbiz Spy in April. "Harry's hoping she'll change her mind but for now, the romance is very much off."
