The last few months have been devastating for the music industry as we saw legendary musicians such as David Bowie and Keith Emerson passing away to the afterlife.
Now, in what comes as another shocker, American singer and multi-instrumentalist Prince, who was 57, was found dead at his house in Paisley Park, Minneapolis. Yvette Noel-Schure, Prince's publicist confirmed the news on Thursday.
Prince, who was a legendary singer and multiple Grammy winner, was found dead in an elevator by the residents of the area. The police was called immediately.
Although the cause of his death is yet to be determined, the iconic musician had been hospitalised with severe flu last week. He had also cancelled his April 7 concert in Atlanta due to the illness.
Prince's music career was highlighted by his charismatic persona, wide vocal range and his ability to churn out hits one after another across genres such as funk, soul, rock and RnB. Some of his most iconic albums include "Purple Rain," "Batman" and "Sign O The Times."
