Premier League giants Arsenal have announced the first signing of the summer and it's Granit Xhaka. The 23-year-old midfielder have joined the Gunners for an undisclosed fee from Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach.
Arsenal also said the Switzerland international has arrived on a "long-term deal."
"Granit Xhaka is an exciting young player, already with good Champions League and Bundesliga experience," Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger told the club's official website on Wednesday.
"We have been watching him for a long time now and he is a player who will add quality to our squad. We wish Granit a good Euro 2016 with Switzerland and look forward to welcoming him to Arsenal ahead of next season."
The former Monchengladbach skipper said he was looking forward to lifting plenty of trophies with the Gunners during his stay in North London. "I'm very proud to be joining Arsenal," Xhaka said.
"I cannot wait to move to London, represent this special club and play in the Premier League. I will give everything to help Arsenal win trophies and make the fans happy."
