Three-day International Aviation Conclave kicks off in New Delhi

New Delhi, Dec 11 (ANI): The three-day International Aviation Conclave focussing on promotion of aviation, global cooperation, Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and other policies began in New Delhi on Thursday (December 11). The conference-cum-exhibition is being organised by aviation firm Beta Aviation, under the support of the Indian Civil Aviation Ministry, Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the US-India Importers Council. The theme revolves around "Empowering Aviation: Encouraging Stability Towards Sustainability" and aims to showcase the growth potential for aviation in the Indian economy. Civil Aviation Minister, Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, told delegates and participants that he hoped to learn from their presentations and exhibits. Dec 11, 2014

Lawyers continue strike in Delhi courts over delay in tabling of amendment bill

New Delhi, Dec 11 (ANI): Lawyers in Delhi courts said that they will continue their strike for the third day on Thursday protesting the delay in tabling an amendment bill of enhancing pecuniary jurisdiction of district courts. Chairman of co-ordination committee of bar associations RK Wadhwa said that all the district courts in Delhi, in its emergent meeting last week, decided to abstain from work with effect from December 09, till the bill is tabled in Parliament. The committee said that despite assurances, the proposed bill recommending enhancement of pecuniary jurisdiction to Rs 2 crore for the courts, has found no mention in the agenda of ongoing Winter Session of Parliament. Godse had assassinated Mahatma Gandhi by shooting him in the chest thrice at point-blank range on January 30, 1948 in New Delhi. Bengaluru/Gurgaon/New Delhi, Dec 11 (ANI): Bengaluru on Thursday banned unregistered cabs in the wake of alleged rape of a female passenger in New Delhi by a driver of US cab company Uber. The transport administration in Bengaluru has taken strict measures aimed at preventing crimes against women professionals travelling in cabs by monitoring taxi drivers. The department is also insisting that all cabs are fitted with GPS. Police have also issued notices to all cab operators in the city to undergo police verification by December 31 or face action.
