Nanavati Commission submits final report to Gujarat CM

Ahmedabad, Nov 18 (ANI): The Nanavati Commission headed by Justice GT Nanavati on Tuesday submitted its final report to Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel. The report is related to the Godhra incident of 2002 riots which took place in Gujarat when Narendra Modi was the CM. Four more crib deaths in Tamil Nadu, toll reaches nine

Dharmapuri, Nov 18 (ANI): Four more infants died at a government-run Dharmapuri Medical College Hospital in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday. Two were boys and two were girls. Of the four, one was delivered in the hospital while the other three were referred from other hospitals. All the four infants died due to being underweight because of pre-mature delivery and were suffering from respiratory problems. With the deaths on Tuesday, the toll mounted to nine after five crib deaths, which included four girls, were reported on Sunday. However, Dean of Medicine, Dharmapuri Government Hospital, Doctor Elangovan refused to take any responsibility of the deaths on behalf of the hospital. Of the five newborn babies who died on Sunday, three were underweight while the other two had respiratory problems. Reportedly, more than 20 babies are still in the hospital facing same problems and there is a fear that the death toll may increase. Nov 18, 2014

Two police constables and mediapersons injured during clash between police and Sant Rampal's support

Chandigarh, Nov 18 (ANI): Haryana DGP SN Vashisht on Tuesday said that two police constables and mediapersons were injured in the clash between police and Sant Rampal's supporters in Hisar. The Haryana police and Sant Rampal's followers clashed outside the godman's Satlok Ashram in Hisar's Barwala town as the cops tried to arrest him. Vashisht said that the police is trying to handle the case with much sensitivity and that proper actions will be taken against the individual police officer who attacked the mediaperson. Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has sought a report on the attack on journalists. The police fired tear gas, used batons and water cannons to disperse Rampal's followers gathered outside the ashram to prevent his arrest and used bulldozers to break through the wall of the ashram, in which several of the disciples have been injured, according to reports.
