Adarsh Scam Case: HC rejects plea seeking to drop Ashok Chavan's name from list of accused

Mumbai, Nov 19 (ANI): The Bombay High Court on Wednesday rejected the CBI plea seeking to delete the name of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan from the list of accused in the Adarsh Society Scam case. Justice ML Tahiliyani gave the ruling in the CBI revision application after its earlier plea was rejected by a Special CBI court in January. BJP pulls up Lalu for calling PM Modi 'NRI'

New Delhi, Nov 19 (ANI): Speaking over the self-styled godman Sant Rampal row former Haryana Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Wednesday said that law and order has to be maintained in Hisar. He added that the government and Sant Rampal supporters need to solve the matter so that there is no further tension. The situation is still tense in Hisar as the controversial Sant Rampal continues to evade law and defy Haryana and Punjab High Court and police orders to surrender. The Haryana Police, which yesterday failed to arrest Rampal and produce him before the state high court after more than six hour of concerted action and violent clashes with the godman's supporters which left scores injured, will make another attempt today to arrest him. Sant Rampal's ashram in Hisar turned into a war zone on Tuesday when hundreds of policemen and Rampal's followers fought a pitched battle, as the police tried to enter the ashram to arrest the godman. New Delhi, Nov 19 (ANI): India's chief Hockey coach Terry Walsh quit from his position after his contractual talks with Hockey India (HI) and the Sports Authority of India (SAI) broke down. But a fresh proposal is still being worked out for the Australian's consideration. Walsh, whose contract was to come to an end on Wednesday (November 19), had already submitted his resignation last month after his demands for a greater say in team decisions and hand-picked support staff were turned down by HI and SAI. However, a fresh proposal will be sent to him in the next couple of days for his consideration, leaving the door still open for his return to India.
