BSF ensures water-tight security along international borders

Gandhinagar, Nov 30 (ANI): India's paramilitary Border Security Force top official on Sunday ensured water-tight security along the borders with reconstruction of fences and other safety measures being taken where ever needed. Addressing the media in Gandhinagar district of Gujarat, Inspector General of Border Security Force, Santosh Mehra said a large number of technical experts have been involved for the purpose. Hailing the achievements of the Border Security Force, Mehra said it is due to their efforts that Pakistan was kept at bay along the Gujarat border during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1965. Nov 30, 2014

Artists from India and Pakistan share stage during music festival to bolster bilateral ties

Amritsar, Nov 30 (ANI): A 41-member delegation of Pakistani artists shared stage with their Indian counterparts during a joint cultural festival 'Saanjh' in Amritsar city. The event is likely to bring the peace building process back on track. With an aim to bolster the bilateral ties and restart the peace building measures, which were derailed by the recent skirmishes along the international border, the event brings together cultural artists of both nuclear-armed neighbours with a positive note. The festival is being organised by centre for preservation and promotion of heritage Punarjyot in collaboration with its Lahore-based counterpart Rafi Peer Theatre Workshop (RPTW). Irfan Pathan remembers Phillip Hughes

Mumbai, Nov 30 (ANI): Indian cricketer and fast bowler Irfan Pathan remembered Phillip Hughes who died after being struck on the head by a bouncer while playing a domestic match at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Hughes died in hospital in Sydney on Thursday, two days after he was struck on the head, casting a pall over a cricket-mad nation which is co-hosting the World Cup early next year. Pathan said that the cricketing world had lost a great talent. Pathan recalled the incident when his bouncer had hit Zimbabwe batsman MA Vermeulen back in 2004. Cricket balls are roughly the same shape and size of a baseball but harder and heavier. Fast bowlers regularly bowl at speeds of 140kph and short-pitched balls, known as 'bouncers', are often used as a tactic to intimidate batsmen.
