New Delhi, Jan 18 (ANI): DCP of Special Cell, Sanjeev Yadav, said on Sunday that two people were apprehended from Welcome metro station in Delhi suspected of supplying ammunition for militant activities. He also said that the two suspects belong to Meerut and Nainital. Khunti, Jan 18 (ANI): Security forces have launched a major offensive against Maoist rebels in Jharkhand, said a senior police official. Security forces and police are raiding hideouts in Gumla, Simdega, Ranchi and Singhbhum districts of the rebel outfits' hotbed. According to police, PLFI cadres are engaged in collecting levy from contractors, small industrialists, traders and transporters. A police report in 2014 said PLFI carried out as many incidents as CPI (Maoist). The Maoists, also known as Naxals in India, are inspired by the political philosophy of China's late Chairman Mao Zedong. Authorities baffled by mysterious death of fish in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur, Jan 18 (ANI): Senior district officials and members of Pollution Department have rushed to Gorakhpur after thousands of fish were found dead in Rapti River. Officials have warned villagers not to take and eat fish as the exact cause of the death is not yet known. There was a mad rush of villagers to catch fish once the news spread. A senior district official, Ranjan Kumar, said they were probing the mysterious death of fish. Dr. Ranjana Tripathi of the pollution department said that the initial findings pointed towards toxicity in the river water.
