Slain Indian security personnel's family proud of his sacrifice in 2001 parliament attack

Sonipat, Dec 13 (ANI): Family members of security personnel who died in the 2001 parliament attack said on Saturday that they were proud of the sacrifice made by him for the country. India is observing the 13th anniversary of the deadly parliament attack, in which 14 people, including five militants, six personnel of Delhi police, and three government staff, died, causing increased tensions between India and Pakistan. Garima Yadav, daughter of JP Yadav, a security personnel who was among those killed in the attack, said her father and others had laid down their lives for the country. Meanwhile, wife of Yadav, Prem Yadav, said India sent a strong message by punishing the attackers. New Delhi said the attackers, who detonated explosives and hurled grenades, belonged to Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Taiba militant groups fighting its rule in Indian Kashmir and had intended to assassinate top political figures. Social activists in Kerala protest against moral policing by demonstrating 'Kiss of Love'

Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 13 (ANI): Social activists of a mass-kissing campaign, 'Kiss of Love', held protest in Kerala against moral policing. Activists held the protest outside the venue of the ongoing annual International Film Festival in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday. A social activist, Aswathy Sreeram, said they were campaigning for what she said "Right to love" and against moral policing. The protest against moral policing kicked off from Kochi and Kozhikode cities in Kerala early November. Since then, the campaign has swept the country, advertised via Facebook, as urban youngsters challenge a deeply conservative society. Dozens of 'Kiss of Love' activists stole kisses and blocked traffic near a metro station in New Delhi last month, outnumbering a handful of right-wing protesters who see such public displays as a threat to Indian culture. Saradha Scam: Madan Mitra sent to CBI custody till December 16

Kolkata, Dec 13 (ANI): Trinamool Congress leader Madan Mitra has reportedly been sent to CBI custody till Dec 16 in connection with the Saradha scam case. He was produced in Alipore court on Saturday, a day after the CBI arrested him. Mitra, however, termed his arrest as a political conspiracy. Earlier, supporters of the Yuva Trinamool Congress blocked the vehicle in which he was being taken and threw flowers on his car. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that Mitra will remain the transport minister and she would handle the ministry in his absence. On Friday, Banerjee sparked a controversy after backing the senior TMC leader. Experts say arrest of ISIS twitter handler a wake-up call

New Delhi/ Allahabad, Dec 13 (ANI): Experts on Saturday (December 13) said the arrest of a man operating a pro-Islamic State Twitter account was a wake-up call and called upon investigation agencies to work along with neighbouring countries to fight militancy. Security Experts Praful Bakshi and Qamar Agha said that it is the failure of investigating agencies and a wake up call for authorities. Talking about the incident, cyber expert, Pawan Duggal, said that cyber terrorism was emerging as the biggest challenge. Cross border trade in Kashmir going strong

Poonch, Dec 13 (ANI): Cross-border trade between Indian Kashmir and Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) has picked up after recent flash floods damaged several bridges. The cross border trade at Chakan-da-Bagh was suspended in September due to the damage of the Time-Domain Reflectometer (TDR) cause way bridge on the Line of Control (LoC).This is the only link which connects Poonch in Indian Kashmir with Rawalkot in PoK. Jammu and Kashmir had witnessed worst flooding in September in which hundreds were killed and marooned. The valley is still recuperating from the after effects. The cross-border trade between the two nations was resumed after almost three weeks in October. ISIS twitter case: Accused arrested by police, confesses operating account since many years

Bengaluru, Dec 13 (ANI): The man accused of handling pro-ISIS twitter account has been arrested by a special team of officials of Bengaluru Police on Saturday. DGP of Karnataka, L Pachuau said that the man identified as Mehdi Masroor Biswas was an engineer by profession and belongs to West Bengal.
