Arun Jaitley inaugurates exhibition on terrestrial and satellite broadcasting

New Delhi, Jan 15 (ANI): India's Information and Broadcasting Minister, Arun Jaitley, on Thursday (January 15) inaugurated the 21st edition of BES (Broadcast Engineering Society) Expo in New Delhi. The Conference and Exhibition on Terrestrial and Satellite Broadcasting is hosting several countries including USA, UK, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore, apart from delegates from India. It will conclude on Saturday (January 17). Addressing the gathering, Jaitley said that the exhibition would be of much value to various stake holders in the broadcasting industry. Jan 15, 2015

Three arrested for vandalizing church in West Delhi

New Delhi, Jan 15 (ANI): Three men were arrested on Thursday by the Delhi Police in connection with Wednesday's vandalism at a church in west Delhi. Joint Commissioner of Police (South-West) Tejinder Luthra said that the three arrested are not related to any group or party and vandalized the church under the influence of alcohol. Mayawati demands CBI investigation over dead bodies in Ganges

Lucknow, Jan 15 (ANI): Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Thursday demanded a CBI investigation over the incident of dead bodies being found in the River Ganges in Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh. She further stated that the Samajwadi Party had failed to maintain the law and order situation in the state. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo also launched her book 'A Travelogue of My Struggle-ridden Life and BSP Movement' to mark her 55th Birthday. Over a hundred bodies were recovered from the river Ganges in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district, earlier on Wednesday. Australian PM Tony Abbott applauds cover page of Charlie Hebdo's latest edition

Canberra, Jan 15 (ANI): Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott spoke to Australian radio station from his office in Parliament House in Canberra commenting on the cover of the French magazine Charlie Hebdo. He welcomed the cover page of the weekly satirical magazine and said that the cartoon saying 'all is forgiven' gave out a positive message. It is the first edition of Charlie Hebdo to be published after the deadly attacks by Islamist gunmen and sold out within minutes at newspaper kiosks around France on Wednesday, with people queuing up to buy copies to support the satirical weekly. Bhutan PM meets Indian President to enhance bilateral relations
