New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): The Dera Sacha Sauda sect, headed by controversial spiritual leader Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, on Thursday pledged its support to the BJP in the Delhi Assembly polls. Based in Sirsa in Haryana, the Dera is believed to have over 20 lakh followers in Delhi. As per reports, the Dera will organise door-to-door campaign in Delhi to gather support for the BJP. Agartala, Feb 05 (ANI): India and Bangladesh officials signed an agreement on real-time information sharing to curb cross-border crime at the two-day district-level border conference in Tripura. A wide range of issues like smuggling, trans-border crime, insurgent movement, narcotics, human trafficking, and cattle lifting were discussed between officials of the countries. New Delhi, Feb 05 (ANI): Environmentalists and policy makers met at the 15th Delhi Sustainable Development Summit (DSDS) to set agendas for the 2015 climate change summit in Paris as India plays an influential role in UN climate talks. Paris could mark a shift away from two decades of climate diplomacy toward a more technocratic system that would allow national pledges for action to limit warming to be compared and toughened in coming years. Chairman of UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Rajendra K Pachauri, said that the three-day Delhi summit will be significant as far as the world's sustainable development goals were concerned.Feb 5, 2015
feb05v4.flvJaipur, Feb 05 (ANI): Health minister of Rajasthan, Rajendra Rathore, said that situation was alarming as at least 58 swine flu deaths were reported in January alone. Rathore visited a hospital in Jaipur to see arrangements and facilities available for swine flu patients. Special wards and counters have been opened and a special team of doctors has been deputed in Jaipur to tackle swine flu cases. Reportedly, out of 33 districts, 29 are afflicted with swine flu while Dholpur, Hanumangarh, Sirohi, and Baran were said to be safe. Swine flu is caused by H1N1 virus. H1N1 symptoms are similar to those produced by other influenza viruses - fever, cough, sore throat, body aches and respiratory problems.Feb 5, 2015
Haridwar, Feb 05 (ANI): Forest department officials rescued a leopard in Uttarakhand after it entered a residential colony, creating panic. The female leopard of Rajaji National Park lost its way while hunting and entered into Kankhal area after which the residents informed the police and forest department. It took six hours to catch the wild cat. Large number of onlookers gathered at the spot, which as per officials, scared the animal and also made the rescue operation difficult.Feb 5, 2015

Srinagar, Feb 05 (ANI): With thick blanket of snow covering Kashmir, officials in Srinagar city's Dachigam national park are busy arranging food material for birds and animals, deprived of natural vegetation due to snow. Kashmir has been receiving heavy snowfall for the last four days, disrupting normal life. According to wildlife officials, animals especially the endangered Hangul deer wander outside their safe havens in search of food. The officials have placed huge chunks of dry willow salt in various parts of the national park to feed the endangered species of animals. According to 2009 census, the population of the Hangul, also known as the Kashmiri stag, was estimated to be between 201 and 234, against 117-180 in March 2008. The temple festival, 'Thaipooyam', was celebrated with religious pageantry at Koorkancherry Sree Maheswara Temple in Thrissur district amid drum beats and procession. Main attractions of the festival were decorated elephants and traditional dance, 'Kavadis', which enthralled the visitors. People of the region revelled in the celebrations as other temples and houses were also decorated. Thaipooyam festival is celebrated in the name of Lord Subrahmanya, son of Hindu god Shiva. On this day, special rituals are also organised. Another major attraction was 'Kavadiattam' or dancing with floral arrangements made on wooden frames.
