India frees 111 Bangladeshi fishermen

West Bengal, Feb 20 (ANI): The West Bengal government has repatriated 111 Bangladeshi fishermen detained for illegal fishing in Indian waters. The release came ahead of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s maiden trip to Bangladesh. Reportedly, Banerjee announced the release of fishermen hours before she left for her three-day trip to Dhaka. During her visit, she is scheduled to meet Bangladesh's President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. New Delhi, Feb 19 (ANI): Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi on Thursday said that police arrested five people for allegedly leaking government documents from the petroleum ministry. Bassi said that three people were caught with some classified papers and that two more were detained after interrogation. He said that the police in investigating the case and that interrogation with all the five people are on. Basi further said that these people used fake identities to enter the building and had duplicate keys which they used and thereafter used to steal documents, photo-copied them in order to pass them on to non-governmental people. Two more people arrested for allegedly leaking documents from petroleum ministry, to be interrogated

New Delhi, Feb 20 (ANI): Delhi Police arrested two more people on Friday apart from five others involved in leaking confidential papers from the petroleum ministry, said police commissioner BS Bassi. He said that the two others will be interrogated and further details will be provided thereafter. Bassi also said that the investigation is on in the case and that names of the companies involved can be exposed after detailed information. Police arrest two Maoist rebels, recover large amount of cash in Jharkhand

Khunti, Feb 20 (ANI): Police arrested two Maoist rebels in Khunti district of Jharkhand and recovered more than 1.5 million rupees from them. Police said they arrested the Maoist rebels after getting a tip-off that they were on their way to deliver the extortion money to their oganisation, the Peoples Liberation Front of India (PLFI). They had collected money by threatening traders, businessmen and shopkeepers. He added that the rebels were carrying no arms. The rebels have operated for decades across a wide swath of central and eastern India, and grew in strength during recent times in areas where poor, tribal villagers came into conflict with mining companies seeking resources for industrialisation. Petroleum ministry document leak: Dharmendra Pradhan says everything would be clear once independent
