Railway Budget lays out clear roadmap for economic growth: PM Modi

New Delhi, Feb 26 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday termed the Railway Budget for fiscal 2015-16 as the clear roadmap to make the railways the key driver of India's economic growth. Prime Minister Modi also took to Twitter to express his views. “#RailBudget2015 is a forward looking, futuristic and passenger centric budget, combining a clear vision and a definite plan to achieve it,” Prime Minister Modi tweeted. “#RailBudget2015 is a watershed moment for Railways, marking a paradigm shift from discussing coaches and trains to comprehensive railway reform. Reactions from political circle over Rail Budget 2015

New Delhi/Patna, Feb 26 (ANI): Reactions poured in on Thursday after Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu presented his maiden railway budget. Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas said that the overall budget is very good. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that expectation was that the fares would reduce but nothing such happened. Earlier in the day, while presenting his railway budget, Suresh Prabhu said the railway has to undergo a transformation over the next five years. New Delhi, Feb 26 (ANI): Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Thursday said that Rail Budget 2015-2016 aims to better the railway system in the country and not to appease other political parties. He said that a strong and efficient railway can lead to growth of the nation and not vice versa. He said this while addressing mediapersons after presenting the budget in Parliament. Prabhu said that the budget has kept in mind various expectations of the common man and can be a termed as a common man budget. He also said that the NDA government being a government of farmers has special provisions for them too in the rail budget. The railway minister further said that the money for different projects mentioned in the budget will come from extra budgetary sources and that the government is talking to World Bank, Asian Development Bank, etc. over the same. Blast in Kashmir injures six

Shopian, Feb 26 (ANI): Six civilians sustained injuries in a grenade blast in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital. Among the six, one is critical. The blast occurred while civilians were cleaning debris near their houses in Shopian district after the gun battle between security forces and militants concluded on Wednesday.
