Sushma Swaraj meets Oman Deputy Prime Minister Sayyid Fahd Bin Mahmoud Al Said

Oman, Feb 18 (ANI): External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday met Oman's Deputy Prime Minister Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al Said during her two-day visit to Oman. Earlier in the day, Swaraj had fruitful discussions with her Oman counterpart Yusuf Bin Abdullah on anti-piracy operations, cooperation in maritime security and other issues relating to the Indian Ocean where the two nations are maritime neighbours. This is Swaraj's third visit to the Gulf countries. She has earlier visited Bahrain in September and the United Arab Emirates in November 2014. India and Oman have a very strong relationship based on extensive people-to-people contacts and historical, economic and cultural exchanges. Feb 18, 2015

BJP chooses Vijender Gupta as leader of opposition for Delhi assembly

New Delhi, Feb 18 (ANI): Vijender Gupta, one of the three successful BJP candidates in Delhi Assembly, was on Wednesday named by the party as the Leader of Opposition. Gupta, a member of the BJP's National Executive, was elected from West Delhi's Rohini constituency and has also been the president of the BJP's Delhi branch.The Bharatiya Janta Party suffered a rout in the recently held Delhi Assembly polls, with only three of its candidates securing a seat in the elections. Senior official claims Coast Guard 'blew up' suspected Pak boat, politicos react

New Delhi, Feb 18 (ANI): In a major controversy with Defence Ministry's statement, a senior DIG of the Indian Coast Guard BK Loshali has claimed in a newspaper report that he ordered to destroy the suspected Pakistani boat which was found 365 miles off Porbandar coast in Gujarat. Mars One is an ambitious initiative by a Netherlands based non-profit organisation by the same name, which hopes to send four people on a one-way trip to the red planet in 2024.
