London police underfunded, says mayor, takes dig at Donald Trump

Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick visited the scene of the attack on London Bridge and addressed the media on June 5. Khan says he thinks that they are not receiving the sort of funding they need as a capital city. The Mayor also took a sly dig at US President Donald Trump when talking about state visits, making the point that they have to protect the visitors, even if some guests are less welcome.  Jun 5, 2017

British Prime Minister Theresa May said on 5 June that the leader of the opposition Labour party, Jeremy Corbyn, would not keep Britain safe if he were to win the UK general election on 8 June. Commenting on his defence policies at a campaign speech in central London, the prime minister said that is not leadership, its an abdication of leadership.
