BSE closes points 272.88 down on Feb 13

New Delhi, Feb 13 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 272.88 points down to stand at 20175.61. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 89.10 points down to stand at5994.90. Muthoot Finance and Future Retail were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 8.81% and 2.99% along with Godrej Cons and United Brew-$ with an increase of 2.62% and 1.90% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include Muthoot Finance and Cipla with a decrease of 8.34% and 7.78% along with BOB and Indian Oil Corporation with a decrease of 5.55% and 5.23% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 13.41 points at 11,804.69 while the banking sector is down 59.61 points at 11,683.77 and the realty sector is up 26.85 points at 1,232.20. The Indian currency is down 0.43% at Rs 62.36 per dollar.

Telangana Row: Meira Kumar suspends L Rajagopal, other Seemandhra MPs

New Delhi, Feb 13 (ANI): Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar on Thursday suspended pepper spray wielder L Rajagopal and other Seemandhra MPs, who created ruckus inside the parliament. The Lok Sabha commenced for all of two minutes during which time Kumar read out a list of Seemandhra MPs who were suspended. Kumar expressed her anguish over the unprecedented clashes in Lok Sabha and termed the incident as a blot on the country's Parliamentary democracy. The Parliament on Thursday was left in shock after suspended Congress MP L Rajagopal who was standing in the well of Lok Sabha, took out a bottle of pepper spray and sprayed it all around the house, leading to the immediate adjournment of the house.

J and K Molestation case: Shabir Ahmad Khan claims innocence

Srinagar, Feb 13 (ANI): Former health minister of Jammu and Kashmir Shabir Ahmad Khan, accused of sexually assaulting a woman doctor, said that he is being framed in the case and claimed that he is innocent, while talking to media persons in Srinagar on Thursday. The doctor in her complaint to the police alleged that the minister made provocative advances to her - both verbal and physical - and molested her when she met him for an official work in the civil secretariat in Srinagar. Khan said that the false allegations had been put to destroy his political career.

Delhi Police to launch 24 hour helpline for NE people

New Delhi, Feb 13 (ANI): In the wake of an alleged "racist" attack on Arunachal Pradesh student Nido Tania that led to his death and a furor among people from the northeast region, the Delhi police has decided to launch a 24hour helpline. Talking to mediapersons, Delhi Police commissioner BS Bassi said that the helpline will start from today. Not only this, Delhi Police is also set to launch a Facebook page and a Twitter account for people from the northeast where they can post complaints and suggestions.

AAP questions Delhi LG's association with Reliance

New Delhi, Feb 13 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party leader Ashutosh, on Thursday questioned the association of Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung with Reliance group. Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has ordered to file a case against Reliance following a complaint filed to the state government on the gas pricing issue. Kejriwal had directed India's anti-corruption branch to file criminal cases against Oil Minister Veerappa Moily, former Oil Minister Murli Deora, Reliance Industries. Kejriwal had claimed that the Reliance Industries manipulated gas pricing with some ministers.

MPs stable & kept under observation: Doctor on Parliament spray effect

New Delhi, Feb 13 (ANI): Giving updates about the health of Parliament MPs being affected by the gas spray spread in the house on Thursday, RML Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr HK Kar said that the condition of the MPs are stable and they are kept under observation before being discharged. He said that they complained of irritation on face, eyes, nose and mouth and they are better after being cleaned by saline water.
