Sibal calls violence in Muzaffarnagar as shameful

New Delhi, Sep 11 (ANI): Union Telecom Minister, Kapil Sibal, called the religious riots in Muzaffarnagar that killed at least 32 people and forced hundreds to flee their homes, as a shameful act and a sign of rising tension between Hindus and Muslims ahead of 2014 general election. Liberian President discusses bilateral issues with Khurshid

Maoists gun down village head in Odisha

Malkangiri, Sep 11 (ANI): Acting with brazen impunity Maoists killed a village head whom they had accused of being a police informer in Odisha. The incident took place at a remote village of Padia in Maoists hit Malkangiri district of Odisha. Police has been thoroughly investigating the matter, as the exact reason behind the killing is yet to be ascertained. The protest is being carried out under the aegis of All Manipur Journalists___ Union in association with the Editors___ Forum and All Manipur Newspaper Sales and Distribution Association, against a recent threat issued to media persons. Job fair attracts many youth in Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh, Sep 11 (ANI): Around 4000 unemployed youth from all districts across the State turned up for a three-day long Job fair in Arunachal Pradesh. A preliminary police inquiry into the killings has found that three of the four people were local civilians. Prayers resume at Kedarnath Temple

Dehradun/ Kedarnath, Sept 11 (ANI): The deathly silence brooding over Kedarnath for the past 86 days since the June calamity hit Uttarakhand broke on Wednesday by the chanting of Vedic hymns as prayers resumed at the Himalayan shrine.The Puja began with a 'shuddhikaran' of the temple and 'prayashchitikaran' (atonement for prolonged suspension of prayers at the shrine). 'Teerth' purohits and Badrinath Kedarnath Samiti officials accompanied the chief priest as the prayers resumed. The resumption of prayers was however of limited nature, as no pilgrim was being allowed to visit the famed Himalayan temple.
