Railway Minister asks agitators not to disturb train services

Passing out parade of the 8th batch of women police constables held in Manipur

Manipur, Oct 08 (ANI): Altogether, 857 out of 908 woman police constables of the 8th batch took part in the passing out parade. During the ceremony Deputy Chief Minister, Gaikhangam, inspected the contingents and took the salute of the Passing out Parade. A march past was taken out by the constables as part of the ceremony. Many MLAs, high ranking police officials including the DGP, and parents were present at the function. During the ceremony, the chief guest also presented prizes to constables who had done well during their training. Tripura opens market for Bangladeshi products

Tripura, Oct 08 (ANI): In a bid to boost bilateral trade relations with neighbouring Bangladesh, authorities in Tripura state allowed setting up of a market, which would sell Bangladeshi products in the country. The provincial government of Tripura has provided a permanent market place for Bangladeshi Businessmen where they can sell their products ranging from sarees, handloom products, plastic products, melamine crockery, rubber, electric and electronic goods. This is a first of its kind market in the country where under one roof all Bangladeshi products would be available for the Indian consumers. Army Chief says no intrusion in Kashmir, army on top of situation

Ghaziabad, Oct 08 (ANI): Army Chief, General Bikram Singh on Tuesday said that his troops had foiled a ‘desperate infiltration’ bid in Keran sector of Kashmir and the militants were not in a strong position to mount any attack. The army has killed nearly 20 militants in the battle that began on September 23 and recovered large haul of sophisticated arms and ammunition. They have been conducting extensive surveillance and search operations to flush out the infiltrator militants. Speaking to mediapersons in Ghaziabad, General Singh clarified that the militants were holed up in a gutter, and even though the operation was still going on, they are not in a strong position.
