Lucknow, April 25 (ANI): BSP chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati on Friday targeted the Congress party over its additional manifesto promising quota for Muslims hailing from other backward classes (OBC). In an attempt to outreach the minority community, the Congress has come forward with its additional manifesto in the middle of the ongoing General Elections, which talks about empowerment of minorities. The party has promised that it will work towards earmarking a quota of 4.5 percent for backward Muslims in the existing OBC reservations. New Delhi/ Lucknow/ Kanpur, April 25 (ANI): The ruling Congress Party's additional manifesto promising OBC quota for Muslims has invited mixed reactions from various political and non-political leaders. Congress leader Meem Afzal clarified it as a promising fact of the party which will be fulfilled. Former SP leader Kamal Farooqui stated that Congress should have done it earlier during its tenure. Rajya Sabha MP Mohd Adeeb stated that he would support Congress if it succeeds in fulfilling this promise. New Delhi, April 25 (ANI): Following a major fire in Vasant Kunj slum which burnt almost 1100 huts, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung visited the site and announced compensations to the aggrieved. He said that nearby SDMs should be deployed in the area and Jal Board to be alerted for more water in the region. He also announces establishing a kitchen and tents which will be up by the evening.
