New Delhi, Jan 30 (ANI): Delhi Sikh Gurudwara committee and Shiromani Akali Dal party members are holding a protest at the headquarters of Indian National Congress party at 24 Akbar Road. The protest is against Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi's comment over the 1984 Anti Sikh riots recently. Rahul, had in a television interview, refused to apologize for the anti-Sikh riots in which many had lost their lives. The protestors are demanding an apology from the Congress Vice President. New Delhi, Jan 30 (ANI): Former president Giani Zail Singh’s press secretary Tarlochan Singh has contradicted Congress vice- president Rahul Gandhi's claim that the Congress government had tried to stop the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Singh in a statement said that the 1984 riots were in fact “orchestrated and sponsored”. He also said that Rajiv Gandhi who took over as PM following the death of Indira Gandhi, even refused to take calls from the Giani Zail Singh when the latter tried to speak to him to discuss the situation. Speaking over this, BJP vice-president Vinay Katiyar on Thursday said that Rajiv Gandhi wanted that riots should happen.
