Odisha officials rescue 32 child labourers

Gajapati, June 02 (ANI): The district administration of Odisha along with a child welfare committee rescued 32 children on Monday, who were working at a construction site in Karnataka. Children, belonging to Maoist-affect areas in Odisha, were working as construction labourers in Karnataka. Twenty-one girls and 12 boys, aged between 6 and 14, were rescued and brought to a home in Gajapati district in Odisha. Niranjan Majhi, a broker, had lured parents of the children on the premise that their children would get free accommodation and would be able to study in English medium schools.
