Poll bound Bangladesh struggles for stability amidst political turmoil

Dhaka, Dec 03 (ANI): War veteran of Bangladesh's independence, Mahboob Zaman has called for a dialogue between the feuding parties- the Awami League and the BNP, to end political turmoil and violence, as the country struggled for stability ahead of the upcoming elections. Zaman, while talking to reporters in Dhaka, highlighted the difference between political belief and ideology between the leading parties. Commenting over political uncertainty, Zaman said that the BNP would have to take a decision about its alliance with Jamaat-e-Islami. Urging the President or the Speaker, Zaman said that dialogue would resolve the ongoing problem. Dec 3, 2013

PM assures energy investors of stable and enabling policy environment

Handwara militant attack ends, 3 militants killed

Handwara, Dec 03 (ANI): The 15-hour gunbattle between the militants and the Army and police forces in Handwara area of Jammu and Kashmir ended on Tuesday, killing three militants, said a police official. Forces launched the joint operation on Monday night after finding that militants were hiding in a forest village in the Handwara region. The firefight entered a residential house which was completely destroyed in the operation. The identification is yet to be established, said police official. Dec 3, 2013
